Melvin Pelupessy has spent most of his life hooked on music, leading him to a start as a DJ and producer in the early nineties. Over the years, Melvin became household artist on leading dance music labels such as Babyboom Records, Viper Beatz and Neophyte Records. On these imprints, The Viper dropped tons of hardcore classics like “Come As One”, “Bulletproof”, “Coming Home” and “Raging In The Dancehall”. Alongside these countless solo productions and collabs, The Viper is widely recognized as one of the harder styles best remixers and bootleggers. He even turns a pile of shit into a smash hit! His resume contains monsters like Sunbeam’s “Twisted World”, Tha Playah’s “Fuck The Titties” and Critical Mass’ “Burning Love”.
Next to being an ace producer, his skills behind the decks are not limited to beatmatching. Melvin is definitely on top of the Olympus when it comes to his unrivalled mixing and scratching. But besides being a kick-ass DJ, The Viper has a sixth sense when it comes to reading the dancefloor. Crowds from all over the globe will underscribe, from countries including China, Australia the U.S.A., Russia and the UK. But Melvin is definitely “Coming Home” on the biggests Dutch stages. He tore them all apart: Qlimax, Defqon.1, Decibel, Mysteryland, Thunderdome, Masters of Hardcore and Dominator.
Besides his very long career in hardcore, Melvin is an excellent allround DJ, showcased during his Freestyle sets: a blend of all harder styles in one performance. He became a resident of the notorious Pussylounge tours. During his freestyle DJ-sets, Melvin is constantly challenged to surprise the crowd, but also himself. This makes DJ-ing even more interesting: for Melvin ánd the crowd.
